The Leadmill proudly presents Def Leppard – Friday 19th May
The multi-platinum selling band, now in their 46th year, will be returning to their roots with a one-off show at The Leadmill this month to support the iconic venue, alongside raising funds for the Music Venue Trust.
The Leadmill show on Friday 19th May will be the band’s most intimate fully-electric hometown headline show in over 40 years, with only 850 tickets available for the special event. It takes place ahead of their massive stadium shows at Bramall Lane and Wembley Stadium the following week.
With The Leadmill still under threat of eviction from their landlord, Def Leppard pitched the show as a way of showing solidarity with their plight, and to highlight the venue’s cultural significance to the city. Proceeds from the show will also go towards the Music Venue Trust, a charity that champions and protects grassroots music venues across the UK.
“We’re absolutely delighted to be welcoming a band as legendary as Def Leppard onto our stage. The fact that a local act that has gone on to play stadiums across the world is willing to come back home and support us in a time of need (as well as thousands of other integral grassroots venues across the UK) speaks volumes of their character. This will be the first time they’ve played The Leadmill, so it’s wonderful to be adding another chapter to Sheffield’s musical history.” Ben Hartley – Live Promoter
