Charities We Support

The Leadmill supports many charities in the hopes that we can drive awareness to the work that they do supporting various communities. We fundraise on their behalves and take donations in the venue as well. Keep an eye out for information on any events the charities are holding and please do get in touch with us if you would like to know more.

Under the Stars is dedicated to using the power of creativity and the performing arts to enhance the lives of people with learning disabilities and / or autism. Through workshops and events, Under the Stars work with their learners to unlock potential and change lives.

As an organisation, they have been delivering music, dance and drama workshops since 2010 and every week, more than 100 people join them for high-quality activities that are designed to help them to flourish.

At The Leadmill, we host six club nights a year with Under the Stars to provide people with learning disabilities with the ‘proper’ nightclub experience.

The Sarah Nulty Power of Music Foundation exists to celebrate and support people to experience the transformative power of music.
The Leadmill had the pleasure of working with Sarah Nulty whilst the Tramlines offices were based in the studios of the building – this Foundation exists to remember Sarah through the power of music: by bringing happiness and spreading joy to people across the city.

Sheffield Music School and the Tracks project are fully focused on working with young people to empower and engage with music whether in the studio, at a gig or behind the studio desk! Running a weekly term time music school on Saturdays, SMS and the Tracks project works with students to build classes and workshops that help them to make the music that is important to them. From rap to rock, industry talks to branding workshops, they help students to enjoy the process of being a musician.

Sheffield Music School currently operates from one of The Leadmill’s studios – The Leadmill also runs an instrument donation scheme, where people can drop off unwanted instruments or pieces of kit, to be passed on to a loving home.

SLAMBARZ cic is a music/artist development and live performance community interest company for young urban lyricists aged between 14-25 based in Sheffield.

SLAMBARZ are passionate about supporting young, seldom-heard musicians that have expressed the need and appetite for safe creative spaces where they can pursue their creative & artistic passions through music. They enable this to happen whilst also offering the opportunities to network with other creatives, communities, industry professionals and renowned venues that may seem inaccessible otherwise.

SLAMBARZ is the hub for urban art forms in South Yorkshire, specialising in POP culture such as Grime, Hip Hop, RnB, Trap, Jazz, Soul and Drill. Their events promote inclusiveness, culture, good vibes, healthy competition & live performance, acting as a gateway for both emerging and established role-model artists to come together in their artistry, whilst networking and experiencing aspects of the music industry first-hand. SLAMBARZ engages with high calibre, charismatic, versatile and talented artists to help create, shape and nurture positive life paths and opportunities. Their ever-evolving community is the nucleus of everything we represent, as we cater to a wide demographic of cultures, ages and backgrounds.
