Since erupting from Sheffield’s underground in 2016, FEMUR have carved out a reputation as one of the UK’s most visceral and unpredictable live acts. Their sound – a “bewildering, hook-filled psych-grunge onslaught” (Exposed Magazine, 2023) – fuses feral energy with psychedelic chaos, pulling listeners into their volatile world. Early releases Spook (2017) and the In Your Belly EP (2018) set the tone: raw, primal, and impossible to ignore, quickly earning them support slots with The Wytches and YAK and cementing their name across the UK’s alternative scene.
By 2020, FEMUR were fully off the leash. Their blistering single Misery Express powered their first nationwide tour alongside heavy-hitters God Damn and SLIFT, paving the way for debut album People Parts (2022) – a kaleidoscopic trip through psych-rock, post-punk, and garage chaos hailed as “post-punk on acid” (Local Sound Focus). 2024 marked a major turning point as the band exploded onto the European circuit, selling out shows in Paris and beyond, headlining a festival in Biarritz, and storming packed festival stages across the UK. Their latest EP Snake Rock captures that unrelenting momentum — “chaotic, aggressive and relentless… tearing yourself away from it requires physical effort” (Local Sound Focus).
Fresh from a landmark year that saw them tipped as Ones to Watch by BBC Introducing Leeds & Sheffield, 2025 has been FEMUR’s biggest year yet. From selling out Sheffield’s iconic Leadmill, to storming the BBC Introducing Stage at Rock & Roll Circus, and making standout appearances at Glastonbury and Tramlines alongside Fat White Family and Pulp, FEMUR are riding the crest of a serious wave. Their live shows have become the stuff of legend – wild, unpredictable, and impossible to turn away from. As Exposed Magazine (2025) put it: “They are, in my humble opinion, the best in the city at what they do.” Loud, volatile, and utterly addictive – FEMUR aren’t just a band, they’re a force.
