SUMMARY:Joe Carnall Jnr - Celebrates 20 years of Milburns Well Well Well (Hare and Hounds\, Birmingham)
DESCRIPTION:Joe Carnall Jnr – Celebrating 20 Years of Milburns Well Well Well \nTwenty years after the release of Well Well Well\, Joe Carnall Jnr returns to the songs that helped define a generation of Northern indie rock. As frontman of Milburn\, Carnall’s sharp storytelling\, kitchen-sink wit and anthemic hooks captured the restless spirit of mid-2000s Britain and Well Well Well became a landmark debut that still resonates today. \nNow\, two decades on\, Carnall is marking the anniversary with an intimate run of shows that strip the record back to its raw essence. These special performances revisit the album’s sharp-edged charm and emotional punch\, offering fans a rare chance to experience the songs up close louder in feeling\, closer in connection. \nFrom the wry observational lyricism to the punchy\, melodic urgency that defined Milburn’s early sound\, Well Well Well remains a snapshot of youth\, grit and ambition.

SUMMARY:Dead World Leaders - Hallamshire Hotel
DESCRIPTION:Dead World Leaders are a Sheffield indie rock band formed in the mid 2000s\, emerging during a defining moment for the city’s guitar driven scene. Rooted in British indie\, the four piece built a reputation for melodic songwriting\, sharp dynamics and energetic live performances across the UK circuit. \nFeaturing Andy Martin on vocals\, Kyle Hammond on guitar\, Rob Nicholson on bass and Dan Ryan on drums\, the band fused jangling yet powerful guitars\, propulsive basslines and anthemic choruses with a distinctly northern urgency. Their sound drew from post Britpop and post punk\, balancing immediacy with thoughtful lyricism. \nDead World Leaders became regulars on the national live circuit\, sharing stages with Reverend and the Makers\, Glasvegas\, The Enemy\, Silversun Pickups\, Arctic Monkeys\, The La’s and Snow Patrol. They performed at high profile events including In The City and the inaugural Tramlines Festival\, cementing their place within Sheffield’s modern indie landscape. \nTheir debut single\, “The Start of The End Begins” in 2006\, showcased their flair for memorable refrains and tightly crafted guitar hooks. Follow up releases including “Vitamins” in 2007 and “Right Side of Wrong” in 2008 strengthened their momentum\, supported by BBC radio airplay and coverage in regional music press. \nPositioned within the wave of mid 2000s British indie\, Dead World Leaders remain part of Sheffield’s rich guitar band heritage.

SUMMARY:Teen Mortgage plus Cowboy Hunters // Yellow Arch
DESCRIPTION:Washington DC’s Teen Mortgage climbed from the city’s primordial punk soup in 2017 after guitarist/vocalist James Guile relocated to the nation’s capital from Liverpool\, UK and by a stroke of luck was quickly able to find hard hitting drummer Ed Barkauskas via a desperate craigslist post. As a two piece they stood out – crossbreeding east coast hardcore aggression and garage/surf sleaze with a focus on pop sensibility. This sonic blend perfectly set the scene for vocalist and guitarist James Guile to illustrate what he describes as “the absurdity of living in the era of late stage capitalism and tech feudalism”. He adds\, “it’s even woven into our name\, like Mortgage in latin means ‘death pledge’” \nTeen Mortgage’s acerbic intensity was noticed by Brooklyn\, NY label King Pizza Records\, who released the duo’s 2019 EP Life/Death and 2021’s Smoked. Songs from the EPs earned Teen Mortgage placements with Shameless\, Vans Park Series\, and Evil Bikes and support slots with notable bands like The Chats\, Mike Krol\, Bass Drum Of Death\, Jeff The Brotherhood\, etc. \nKnown for their rowdy live shows\, Teen Mortgage detonates a sonic bomb that leaves no room for apathy\, let alone time to breathe. Guile’s caustic riffs and sneer paired with Barakauskas’s brawn have fostered a new established meeting ground for those looking for a place to mosh. Their DIY headline national tours have seen crowd members become rabid as soon as the pair kick in the first riff of the set\, like a pack of coyotes chasing down their prey. The group’s infectious fuzz bonded with Jello Biafra and George Carlin inspired lyrics ignite audiences into a primal frenzy\, sweating out the drudgery of living through\, once again in Guile’s words\, “the era of late stage capitalism and tech feudalism”. \n“These guys have got it going on” – Iggy Pop\, BBC6’s The Confidential Show \nRECENT NOTABLE PRESS \nIggy Pop Shout Out Teen Mortgage – The Confidential Show on BBC6 Radio \nhttps://www.instagram.com/reel/Cnyxf-3jzQ7/?igshid=ZjE2NGZiNDQ= \nWashington Post Feature \nhttps://www.washingtonpost.com/music/2022/07/13/teen-mortgage-interview/ \n  \nWashington Post Feature II \nhttps://www.washingtonpost.com/dc-md-va/2023/06/08/dc-punk-library-show/

SUMMARY:Barry Castagnola (The Steamworks)
DESCRIPTION:Fresh from supporting Greg Davies on his ‘Full Fat Legend’ tour\, Barry brings his own show to The Steamworks\n\nHaving become a father quite late in life\, in all honestly\, he’s just delighted to be away for a few days to get some good sleep (although he won’t be telling his partner that and he hopes she won’t read this. Why would she? She’s not going to be booking tickets to see him in Sheffield).\n\nEmbarrassingly\, he’s got a racist dog\, so a break from constantly apologising in the local park is also a bonus.\n\nOh\, and he’s furious his parents chose the name Barry.\n\nExpect stories about these and other awkward situations in a show packed with laughs.\n\nHe’d like to point out that he wrote the above (and this) and to be honest\, he finds it a bit weird to be writing in the third person. He also thinks it’s presumptuous to say his show is packed with laughs (even though he’s very confident it will be). Why don’t you be the judge and come along? He’d also like to clarify that the quotes below weren’t written by him but by actual reviewers (and an endorsement from Greg Davies). And he’d like to thank you for the time you’ve spent reading this and he hopes to see you on the 23rd September.\n\n“Astonishingly funny”  ★★★★★ The List\n“Perfect” ★★★★★  3 weeks \n“Hugely entertaining” ★★★★ Chortle\n“A confident\, likeable comic\, it’s his self-deprecating bemusement that provides the most hilarity.” ★★★★ Metro\n“His charm and willingness to make himself look ridiculous carry him through the trickiest of subject matter.” ★★★★ Edfest\n“By far the funniest Barry I know (since my uncle died)” Greg Davies

SUMMARY:Sandro Ford (Sheffield Plate)
DESCRIPTION:Stand-up comedian Sandro Ford is heading out on his first ever UK and Ireland tour\, and it’s a big one. Titled Lager Than Life\, this debut run brings Sandro’s unmistakable voice\, sharp observations\, and pub-bred storytelling to stages across the country. \nCo-Host of the smash hit Problematic Pub Podcast and as seen on Have A Word\, Dead Men Talking\, and Hot Water Green Room\, Sandro has quickly made a name for himself as a comic who tells it how it is. His comedy is rooted in real life\, growing up\, getting older\, bad decisions\, worse hangovers\, and the sort of characters you only ever meet in or around a pub. Honest\, self-aware\, and unapologetically funny\, his material feels lived-in and instantly relatable. \nLager Than Life is a celebration of nights that spiral\, mates who never change\, and the quiet chaos of everyday British life. SUMMARY:Declan Welsh and The Decadent West at Hallamshire Hotel
DESCRIPTION:Declan Welsh and the Decadent West are back. After time away writing their third record\, the Glasgow band return this autumn with 25+ dates across the UK and Europe\, from Saint Luke’s in their hometown to Berlin’s Badehaus\, London’s The Grace to Madrid’s Sala Sol\, in support of new album Explicit Agitation\, out September 2026. \nThe record is their most ambitious yet: a furious\, clear-eyed document of the present moment that refuses to look away. From deindustrialised towns hollowed out by decades of neglect\, to the death toll in Gaza counted out in verse\, to a withering monologue delivered from inside the mind of a ruling-class villain. But Explicit Agitation is also their most complete record: alongside the politics sits love\, loneliness\, lost faith\, and a searching self-awareness about what protest art is actually for. Recorded with Chris Marshall at Castle of Doom Studios\, who produced their debut\, the album’s title signals intent. The music delivers on it. \nFronted by singer-songwriter Declan Welsh; the band now features a rotating cast of friends and musicians alongside longtime bassist Ben Corlett and they have built their reputation through ferocious live performances and writing that punches as hard as it moves. Their debut album Cheaply Bought\, Expensively Sold earned a Scottish Album of the Year shortlist; their second established them as an essential voice and live act. They’ve headlined the Barrowland Ballroom twice\, topped the bill at Tenement Trail\, and played the main stage at TRNSMT\, alongside appearances at Glastonbury\, Isle of Wight and Reeperbahn. The band are delighted to reschedule dates originally due to take place in spring 2025\, and their recent appearance at Scotland’s Resonate conference was proof\, if any were needed\, that the electric live show is very much intact. Their track “Hardly News” was featured in Universal’s 2025 film Drop. 16 million streams\, 4.5 million on “Absurd” alone\, BBC Radio 1 Intro Track of the Week\, New Music Friday playlisted in the UK\, a national advertising campaign with Tennent’s. Declan recently signed a publishing deal with Notting Hill Music\, with further announcements regarding the albums release imminent. \nThe return of one of the UK’s most essential live bands. Explicit Agitation is out September 2026. The tour starts 24th September.

SUMMARY:Amy Matthews (Foundry)
DESCRIPTION:Little Wander in association with PBJ Management present… \nPhoto Credit: Orlando Gili \nTOAST /təʊst/ \n(verb): Apply heat and impart irreversible change. Toast can’t be bread again. \n(noun\, informal): Something that’s finished / over\, or doomed to be. \n(noun): The act of honouring a sentiment by raising a glass\, often to new beginnings. \nAmy doesn’t get angry and she’s starting to feel left out\, so she’s on a quest to feel fury; from what she can discern from the world around her\, it appears to be all the rage… literally. \nAmy is navigating the joy of her first queer relationship whilst dusting herself off from a string of several alcoholic partners. You’d think she’d have plenty to be cross about\, and yet\, whilst everyone seems to be more furious than ever\, she just can’t seem to tap into her own anger – so she’s challenged herself to learn. \nThis lack of wrath may also have something to do with a processing lag that is becoming increasingly disruptive – and comical – in her life. Her emotions seemed to be delivered by carrier pigeon\, if they arrive at all.  \nThis is a show about being awarded Best Supporting Actor in your own life\, the beauty of fully embracing queerness in your 30s\, and the fact that anger may sometimes look more like nursery rhymes and crying on a bike than punching walls and shouting. It’s worth mentioning that alongside all this soul-searching\, this show also tries to fathom why Amy’s mum has started keeping milk in the boot of her car\, how a potion from 2002 may have cursed the world\, and how a pavement stand-off with a bird became a wake-up call. \nAs seen on: Her 5-star special\, I Feel Like I’m Made of Spiders’ (ITVx)\, Comedy Central Live\, Gifted (BBC) and BAFTA-winning Scot Squad. \nAs heard on: Off Menu\, Dan Does Dating (BBC Radio 4)\, host of the official English Heritage podcast and writer for Have I Got News For You? If you think I’ve learnt my lesson you couldn’t be wronger. I’m telling you\, some of these baddies have got me winning staring competitions with the ceiling. But I don’t even think about that shit anymore.  \nSome of my ideas are so funny that they scare me\, so GOD knows how you lot are gonna feel!! \nAs seen on: Mitchell & Webb Are Not Helping\, Everyone Else Burns\, and his own stand-up special Hungry. Horny. Scared. \n“Young is surely on the road to stardom”  ★★★★★ Rolling Stone \n“One of British comedy’s most intriguing new voices” ★★★★ The Independent \n“Bursting with energy and talent\, and has the audience screaming with laughter until the end” ★★★★ Scotsman \n”Wildly funny” ★★★★ Chortle \n”A high-energy hour that’s bursting its buttons with jokes” ★★★★ Fest \n“Genuinely hilarious punchlines… Perfectly timed joke delivery” ★★★★ Wee Review \n“Quick on his feet\, likeable and very funny” ★★★★ Beyond The Joke
