SUMMARY:Barry Castagnola (The Steamworks)
DESCRIPTION:Fresh from supporting Greg Davies on his ‘Full Fat Legend’ tour\, Barry brings his own show to The Steamworks\n\nHaving become a father quite late in life\, in all honestly\, he’s just delighted to be away for a few days to get some good sleep (although he won’t be telling his partner that and he hopes she won’t read this. Why would she? She’s not going to be booking tickets to see him in Sheffield).\n\nEmbarrassingly\, he’s got a racist dog\, so a break from constantly apologising in the local park is also a bonus.\n\nOh\, and he’s furious his parents chose the name Barry.\n\nExpect stories about these and other awkward situations in a show packed with laughs.\n\nHe’d like to point out that he wrote the above (and this) and to be honest\, he finds it a bit weird to be writing in the third person. He also thinks it’s presumptuous to say his show is packed with laughs (even though he’s very confident it will be). Why don’t you be the judge and come along? He’d also like to clarify that the quotes below weren’t written by him but by actual reviewers (and an endorsement from Greg Davies). And he’d like to thank you for the time you’ve spent reading this and he hopes to see you on the 23rd September.\n\n“Astonishingly funny”  ★★★★★ The List\n“Perfect” ★★★★★  3 weeks \n“Hugely entertaining” ★★★★ Chortle\n“A confident\, likeable comic\, it’s his self-deprecating bemusement that provides the most hilarity.” ★★★★ Metro\n“His charm and willingness to make himself look ridiculous carry him through the trickiest of subject matter.” ★★★★ Edfest\n“By far the funniest Barry I know (since my uncle died)” Greg Davies

SUMMARY:Sandro Ford (Sheffield Plate)
DESCRIPTION:Stand-up comedian Sandro Ford is heading out on his first ever UK and Ireland tour\, and it’s a big one. Titled Lager Than Life\, this debut run brings Sandro’s unmistakable voice\, sharp observations\, and pub-bred storytelling to stages across the country. \nCo-Host of the smash hit Problematic Pub Podcast and as seen on Have A Word\, Dead Men Talking\, and Hot Water Green Room\, Sandro has quickly made a name for himself as a comic who tells it how it is. His comedy is rooted in real life\, growing up\, getting older\, bad decisions\, worse hangovers\, and the sort of characters you only ever meet in or around a pub. Honest\, self-aware\, and unapologetically funny\, his material feels lived-in and instantly relatable. \nLager Than Life is a celebration of nights that spiral\, mates who never change\, and the quiet chaos of everyday British life. Sandro’s relaxed delivery and natural crowd connection allow his punchlines to land effortlessly\, turning familiar situations into moments of pure comedy. One minute he’s dissecting modern masculinity\, the next he’s deep into a story that probably should’ve stayed off record — but you’re glad it\ndidn’t. \nThis tour marks the next step for a comic firmly on the rise\, bringing his most personal and hard-hitting material yet to live audiences. Whether you’ve followed his podcast appearances or are discovering him for the first time\, expect big laughs\, brutal honesty\, and stories that hit close to home. \nSo get a drink in\, find your seat\, and brace yourself. With Sandro Ford\, it’s always Down the Hatch. Lovelyyy

He has since featured on 8 Out of 10 Cats does Countdown\, won a host of awards and been listed as the 26th Funniest Comedian of the 21st Century by the Telegraph. \nHis latest show was among the Best Reviewed Shows at Edinburgh Fringe 2025 (British Comedy Guide) and was listed as one of The Guardian’s Golden Shows to See at Edinburgh Fringe 2025.

SUMMARY:Declan Welsh and The Decadent West at Hallamshire Hotel
DESCRIPTION:Declan Welsh and the Decadent West are back. After time away writing their third record\, the Glasgow band return this autumn with 25+ dates across the UK and Europe\, from Saint Luke’s in their hometown to Berlin’s Badehaus\, London’s The Grace to Madrid’s Sala Sol\, in support of new album Explicit Agitation\, out September 2026. \nThe record is their most ambitious yet: a furious\, clear-eyed document of the present moment that refuses to look away. From deindustrialised towns hollowed out by decades of neglect\, to the death toll in Gaza counted out in verse\, to a withering monologue delivered from inside the mind of a ruling-class villain. But Explicit Agitation is also their most complete record: alongside the politics sits love\, loneliness\, lost faith\, and a searching self-awareness about what protest art is actually for. Recorded with Chris Marshall at Castle of Doom Studios\, who produced their debut\, the album’s title signals intent. The music delivers on it. \nFronted by singer-songwriter Declan Welsh; the band now features a rotating cast of friends and musicians alongside longtime bassist Ben Corlett and they have built their reputation through ferocious live performances and writing that punches as hard as it moves. Their debut album Cheaply Bought\, Expensively Sold earned a Scottish Album of the Year shortlist; their second established them as an essential voice and live act. They’ve headlined the Barrowland Ballroom twice\, topped the bill at Tenement Trail\, and played the main stage at TRNSMT\, alongside appearances at Glastonbury\, Isle of Wight and Reeperbahn. The band are delighted to reschedule dates originally due to take place in spring 2025\, and their recent appearance at Scotland’s Resonate conference was proof\, if any were needed\, that the electric live show is very much intact. Their track “Hardly News” was featured in Universal’s 2025 film Drop. 16 million streams\, 4.5 million on “Absurd” alone\, BBC Radio 1 Intro Track of the Week\, New Music Friday playlisted in the UK\, a national advertising campaign with Tennent’s. Declan recently signed a publishing deal with Notting Hill Music\, with further announcements regarding the albums release imminent. \nThe return of one of the UK’s most essential live bands. Explicit Agitation is out September 2026. The tour starts 24th September.

SUMMARY:Bleach Lab - Sidney and Matilda (Special 80 cap show)
DESCRIPTION:‘Falling’ – out 9th September – is Bleach Lab’s first self-penned track released since their Close to the Flame EP back in July 2025. \nThe EP explored the hardships of love from the band’s personal experiences\, capturing the messy reality of trying to hold onto love\, whilst dealing with self-doubt\, regret and the fear of losing yourself in the process\, brought even closer to home by being the band’s first self-produced project. \n‘Falling’ continues and builds upon what they do best: dreamy pop soundscapes drenched with nostalgia. Singer Jenna Kyle says\, “’Falling’ is about falling love\, that feeling you get in the early stages where you can lose your sense of self in the other person\, or lose control of your emotions. It’s about daydreaming unrealistic realities and trying to bring yourself back down to earth.” \nTo celebrate its release\, new material will be premiered next to a set of favourites\, at a series of special fan-led shows in intimate venues this autumn. \n

SUMMARY:Amy Matthews (Foundry)
DESCRIPTION:Little Wander in association with PBJ Management present… \nPhoto Credit: Orlando Gili \nTOAST /təʊst/ \n(verb): Apply heat and impart irreversible change. Toast can’t be bread again. \n(noun\, informal): Something that’s finished / over\, or doomed to be. \n(noun): The act of honouring a sentiment by raising a glass\, often to new beginnings. \nAmy doesn’t get angry and she’s starting to feel left out\, so she’s on a quest to feel fury; from what she can discern from the world around her\, it appears to be all the rage… literally. \nAmy is navigating the joy of her first queer relationship whilst dusting herself off from a string of several alcoholic partners. You’d think she’d have plenty to be cross about\, and yet\, whilst everyone seems to be more furious than ever\, she just can’t seem to tap into her own anger – so she’s challenged herself to learn. \nThis lack of wrath may also have something to do with a processing lag that is becoming increasingly disruptive – and comical – in her life. Her emotions seemed to be delivered by carrier pigeon\, if they arrive at all.  \nThis is a show about being awarded Best Supporting Actor in your own life\, the beauty of fully embracing queerness in your 30s\, and the fact that anger may sometimes look more like nursery rhymes and crying on a bike than punching walls and shouting. It’s worth mentioning that alongside all this soul-searching\, this show also tries to fathom why Amy’s mum has started keeping milk in the boot of her car\, how a potion from 2002 may have cursed the world\, and how a pavement stand-off with a bird became a wake-up call. \nAs seen on: Her 5-star special\, I Feel Like I’m Made of Spiders’ (ITVx)\, Comedy Central Live\, Gifted (BBC) and BAFTA-winning Scot Squad. \nAs heard on: Off Menu\, Dan Does Dating (BBC Radio 4)\, host of the official English Heritage podcast and writer for Have I Got News For You? (BBC One) \nTour support for: Ed Byrne\, Josh Widdicombe\, Suzi Ruffell\, Tom Allen\, Sarah Keyworth\, Jason Manford\, Tom Davis & Jessica Fostekew. \n“Drily funny and giddily quirky.” (The Scotsman) \n“Combining a relaxed charm with a searing wit\, she makes the deeply personal feel like a universal truth.” (Rolling Stone) \n“Technically flawless.” (British Comedy Guide) \n“Matthews treads the line between stand-up and troubadour.” (Manchester Wire) \n“The whimsy\, the tales\, the cleverness.” (Punchline) \n★★★★★ “Immaculately delivered and written.” (One4Review) \n★★★★★ “Insanely original.” (Broadway Baby) \n★★★★ “Like Lily Allen.” (Broadway World) \n★★★★ (The Skinny) \n★★★★ (The List)  \n★★★★ (The Wee Review) \n★★★★ (Ed Review)

SUMMARY:Chuck Ragan (Hot Water Music) Live at The Greystones
DESCRIPTION:Chuck Ragan is best known as co-frontman of Hot Water Music\, but his career has also spanned acclaimed solo releases\, the influential Revival Tour\, and even a successful fly-fishing business in California. Across everything he does\, honesty and authenticity remain at the core. \nHis new album\, Love And Lore\, marks his first solo release in ten years. Originally conceived in 2016\, the record faced numerous delays due to the pandemic\, family commitments\, and other challenges before finally being completed in 2023. The result is a collection that pushes beyond Ragan’s folk roots\, embracing richer arrangements and new sonic territory while retaining the heartfelt songwriting that has defined his career. \nFeaturing contributions from Todd Beene\, George Rebelo\, and Spencer Duncan\, Love And Lore explores themes of family\, relationships\, personal struggle\, and finding solace in nature. It’s a deeply reflective and emotionally resonant album that showcases Ragan’s continued growth as a songwriter and musician.

SUMMARY:Hayley Ellis (Sheffield Plate)
DESCRIPTION:Once upon a time\, Hayley Ellis was in a girlband. She had it all\, a fringe full of inset hairspray\, a lace glove and a dream. It was the 90s and she was sure her band was going to be the next big thing. Fast forward some years later\, the fringe has flopped and the only gloves she wears is an oven mitt.  But what if she’d made it? Who would she be today? A well-adjusted mum who invested wisely and does the school run? A wellness guru flogging labia flavoured incense sticks? Or a washed-up has been calling the paps every time she goes to the Tesco just so she can scream “Why won’t you people let me live my life!?” \nJoin ex-popstar Hayley for an hour of joyous retrospection on body image\, Smash Hits \nmagazine and an indoor skydiving debacle that’ll convince you some dreams are better left in the past. SUMMARY:Sophie Duker (The Steamworks)
DESCRIPTION:Taskmaster Champion\, Edinburgh Comedy Award Best Newcomer Nominee and retired sugar daughter Sophie Duker is back with a brand-new 2027 stand-up tour\, ‘Hot Beef Injection’. \nIn her latest hour\, Sophie dares to get both sexy and political\, reflecting on hypermasculinity\, heavy-handed handymen and that old-chestnut Would You Rather: ‘Man or Bear?’. Hot Beef Injection reckons with the primal fear driving Duker’s distrust of heterosexual he/hims\, and out of a challenging comedy club encounter a new question emerges: what would she say if she spoke to men\, instead of shutting them out? \n“Obscenely good… Charisma to burn” Rolling Stone \n“extremely funny” ★★★★ \nThe Scotsman “she is clearly going places” ★★★★ Evening Standard
