SUMMARY:Joe Carnall Jnr - Celebrates 20 years of Milburns Well Well Well (SWG3 Poetry Club\, Glasgow)
DESCRIPTION:Joe Carnall Jnr – Celebrating 20 Years of Milburns Well Well Well \nTwenty years after the release of Well Well Well\, Joe Carnall Jnr returns to the songs that helped define a generation of Northern indie rock. As frontman of Milburn\, Carnall’s sharp storytelling\, kitchen-sink wit and anthemic hooks captured the restless spirit of mid-2000s Britain and Well Well Well became a landmark debut that still resonates today. \nNow\, two decades on\, Carnall is marking the anniversary with an intimate run of shows that strip the record back to its raw essence. These special performances revisit the album’s sharp-edged charm and emotional punch\, offering fans a rare chance to experience the songs up close louder in feeling\, closer in connection. \nFrom the wry observational lyricism to the punchy\, melodic urgency that defined Milburn’s early sound\, Well Well Well remains a snapshot of youth\, grit and ambition.

SUMMARY:PINS plus Gia Ford & Gelder - Yellow Arch (Rescheduled Date)
DESCRIPTION:Pins – Faith Vern\, Lois Macdonald\, Kyoko Swan and Abbi Phillips – are a Manchester band known for their danceable\, post-punk sounds and have earned the support of figures such as Iggy Pop and Jamie Hince (The Kills). Their music has been championed by outlets including The Guardian\, Interview Magazine\, Harper’s Bazaar and Stereogum. \nNow signed to Clue Records and recording new material at Holy Mountain Studios in Hackney\, PINS are entering an exciting new chapter. Recent single ‘I’ll Be Yours’ hints at what’s to come\, with further releases and live dates set to follow throughout the year. \nKnown for explosive live shows\, PINS have appeared at major music festivals including SXSW and the main stage at Reading & Leeds\, as well as supporting artists ranging from Sleater-Kinney and The Breeders to The Cribs and Stereophonics. \n2015’s Wild Nights (Bella Union) was recorded at Rancho De La Luna with Dave Catching (Eagles of Death Metal) and attracted acclaim for its jangly\, melodic post-punk with a surfy edge. Its follow-up\, Hot Slick pushed the band into sleeker\, electronic and club-leaning textures\, welcoming a rotating cast of collaborators\, including production from Rich Woodcraft\, Jamie Hince and Dean Honer\, and contributions from Nathan Saoudi of Fat White Family. The result is a rich\, expansive sound that nods to influences such as Goldfrapp and LCD Soundsystem while remaining unmistakably PINS. \nFrom early days spent recording their first EP at SWAYS recording studio in Salford (now The White Hotel)\, PINS have always championed women in the arts. Whether curating tours with female and non-binary fronted artists or working with women on videos\, artwork\, design\, or mastering\, PINS are determined to put female creativity at the forefront of their music and ethos. \nIn 2025\, the band marked the 10-year anniversary of Wild Nights with a UK tour\, reconnecting with a stripped-back\, garage-driven sound rooted in girl-group melody and inspired by the untamed\, artistic spirit of The Velvet Underground. This return to raw energy complements their analogue-driven approach\, from recording on tape machines and shooting film photographs to creating 8mm music videos. PINS celebrates the tactile beauty and imperfections of analogue art.

A relentless live performer\, he’s built a loyal fanbase through sold-out shows and festival stages across the UK\, with Somewhere in the Middle taking him past one million streams since its release in October 2025. \nHaving supported Two Door Cinema Club\, Ocean Colour Scene\, and Embrace\, Scherdel’s live shows balance intimacy and release\, stripped-back moments giving way to full-band intensity\, built on connection rather than spectacle. \nThis isn’t hype. SUMMARY:FEMUR (Crookes Social Club)
DESCRIPTION:Since erupting from Sheffield’s underground in 2016\, FEMUR have carved out a reputation as one of the UK’s most visceral and unpredictable live acts. Their sound – a “bewildering\, hook-filled psych-grunge onslaught” (Exposed Magazine\, 2023) – fuses feral energy with psychedelic chaos\, pulling listeners into their volatile world. Early releases Spook (2017) and the In Your Belly EP (2018) set the tone: raw\, primal\, and impossible to ignore\, quickly earning them support slots with The Wytches and YAK and cementing their name across the UK’s alternative scene. \nBy 2020\, FEMUR were fully off the leash. Their blistering single Misery Express powered their first nationwide tour alongside heavy-hitters God Damn and SLIFT\, paving the way for debut album People Parts (2022) – a kaleidoscopic trip through psych-rock\, post-punk\, and garage chaos hailed as “post-punk on acid” (Local Sound Focus). 2024 marked a major turning point as the band exploded onto the European circuit\, selling out shows in Paris and beyond\, headlining a festival in Biarritz\, and storming packed festival stages across the UK. Their latest EP Snake Rock captures that unrelenting momentum — “chaotic\, aggressive and relentless… tearing yourself away from it requires physical effort” (Local Sound Focus). \nFresh from a landmark year that saw them tipped as Ones to Watch by BBC Introducing Leeds & Sheffield\, 2025 has been FEMUR’s biggest year yet. From selling out Sheffield’s iconic Leadmill\, to storming the BBC Introducing Stage at Rock & Roll Circus\, and making standout appearances at Glastonbury and Tramlines alongside Fat White Family and Pulp\, FEMUR are riding the crest of a serious wave. Their live shows have become the stuff of legend – wild\, unpredictable\, and impossible to turn away from. As Exposed Magazine (2025) put it: “They are\, in my humble opinion\, the best in the city at what they do.” Loud\, volatile\, and utterly addictive – FEMUR aren’t just a band\, they’re a force.

SUMMARY:Tom A. Smith (Hallamshire Hotel)
DESCRIPTION:At just 21\, the Sunderland-born singer-songwriter is already shaping up to be one of the UK’s most compelling new voices. Fresh off the announcement that he will star alongside Dave Stewart in a major new musical memoir – produced by Fulwell 73 and filming in his hometown next year\, he’s stepping into the national spotlight with serious momentum. \nIn the North East\, he’s already a local phenomenon. His two headline shows at The Fire Station in December 2023 sold out instantly\, moving an impressive 1\,800 tickets\, and he returns to the venue’s outdoor stage on Friday 15th August 2025 for what promises to be his biggest Sunderland show yet. \nA natural performer\, he’s been onstage since the age of eight\, cutting his teeth at open-mic nights with regional heroes including Sam Fender. Whether playing solo acoustic or electric or backed by his band Katie\, Dylan and Frazer\, he delivers a live show that feels raw\, urgent and unmistakably his own. \nAlready a fixture on the UK circuit\, he’s hit the stages of Glastonbury\, Leeds Festival\, and BBC Radio 1’s Big Weekend\, and been hand-picked to support a who’s-who of modern indie and alternative greats: Catfish & The Bottlemen\, Courteeners\, James\, The Lathums\, Gang of Youths\, Miles Kane\, Billy Bragg and DMA’s. He was even personally invited to open for Elton John at Hyde Park\, a moment that cemented him as a rising star with heavyweight backing. \nIn the studio\, he’s collaborated with Miles Kane and Hugo White (The Maccabees / 86TVs)\, sharpening a sound that blends heartfelt songwriting with classic British grit. On screen\, he’s appeared on Soccer AM\, MOTD X\, Blue Peter and Sunday Brunch\, while on air he’s earned playlisting on Absolute Radio and Radio X\, championed by tastemakers including Jack Saunders\, Chris Hawkins\, John Kennedy\, Jordan North and Greg James. \nAn Apple Music ‘Up Next’ artist and AIM Award 2024 nominee for PPL Most Played New Independent Artist\, he’s now signed to legendary UK label Fiction Records a fitting next chapter for an artist who’s already achieved so much\, but is only just getting started.

SUMMARY:Hotel Mira (Hallamshire Hotel)
DESCRIPTION:LA-based frontman and songwriter Charlie Kerr has electrified audiences with his performance style that feels part Iggy Pop and part go-go dancer\, providing a high energy live performance. He tells a story to the crowd through his masterful lyrics\, exceptional stage presence\, and hip-swaying melodies. Bassist Mike Noble\, drummer Cole George\, and guitarist Clark Grieve provide a soundscape that sweeps the audience away in a wave of melodrama and passion. The music from Hotel Mira is partly informed by Kerr’s experience as an actor and playwright; he believes that acting\, music\, and writing are all the same thing: story-telling. Since the release of their 2023 album I Am Not Myself\, Hotel Mira have climbed the Canadian alt rock radio charts\, toured Canada\, the US\, Australia\, and the UK\, and garnered over 40M+ streams on Spotify.

SUMMARY:Gia Ford (Hallamshire Hotel)
DESCRIPTION:How often do we hear from the outsider’s perspective? For rising new artist Gia Ford\, those figures on the fringes of society are by far the most fascinating. Her songs tell the stories of the downtrodden to the downright dangerous. And through them\, we begin to hear familiar\, uncomfortable truths about ourselves. \nRaised between Sheffield and Cheshire after her parents divorced\, Ford developed an early passion for both poetry and original songs. “I’ve always loved writing creatively\, and poetry is something I do for my own pleasure\,” she says. “The two come together quite naturally\, to the point that I end up writing these short stories that happen to be set to music.” This culminated in her spectacular debut album\, Transparent Things\, which was released in 2024 and is a collection of songs that demonstrates Ford’s signature Sheffield swagger\, burnished with nods to alt-pop and psychedelic sleaze. Most of all\, her debut album shows how Ford is able to craft songs like no other artist of her generation. \nSpeaking about her writing style\, Ford said “I think there’s a particular style of being very literal in a lot of modern lyrics\, but I don’t find any joy in writing like that […] It’s so morose talking about myself all the time.” Growing up\, she found herself drawn to artists such as Kate Bush\, Bjork\, The Rolling Stones and Dusty Springfield: all enigmatic artists whose multi-layered songwriting only added to their allure. “What I’ve discovered through writing this album is\, in a way\, I am still writing about myself\,” she says. “A few themes have come through that really surprised me.” \nFollowing the release of Transparent Things\, Ford received huge critical success\, with CLASH Magazine called her a “striking indie it-girl to watch” in an 8/10 review whilst The Line of Best Fit said “Gia Ford’s debut record is a triumph of perseverance\, of artistic integrity\, and of what can happen when you stick to your guns”. Ford has also received additional support from a wealth of titles including NME\, DIY\, WhyNow\, Rolling Stone UK\, Polyester\, and Wonderland\, to name a few. \nNow\, Ford is turning to the next chapter in her burgeoning career\, with fresh singles set for the end of 2025 and plenty more music to come in 2026.

SUMMARY:Tom Rowley (Sidney and Matilda)
DESCRIPTION:Tom Rowley – Very intimate show at Sidney & Matilda \nGoing it alone for the first time\, Tom Rowley stands as one of the finest musicians to emerge from Sheffield’s remarkable generation of talent. A cornerstone of the city’s music scene for two decades\, he’s best known for his work with Arctic Monkeys\, co-writing portions of Tranquility Base Hotel + Casino and The Car\, and joining the band on two world tours as a long-time touring member. \nA founding member and songwriter with Sheffield indie royalty Milburn\, the band he started at just 14\, Rowley has also written and performed with Reverend & The Makers and countless others. Widely regarded as the musician’s musician in the Steel City\, his fingerprints can be found all over Sheffield’s modern sound. \nThis December\, he steps into the spotlight for an intimate Christmas show at Sidney & Matilda a rare chance to catch one of Sheffield’s most quietly influential artists up close.
