SUMMARY:Hayley Ellis (Sheffield Plate)
DESCRIPTION:Once upon a time\, Hayley Ellis was in a girlband. She had it all\, a fringe full of inset hairspray\, a lace glove and a dream. It was the 90s and she was sure her band was going to be the next big thing. Fast forward some years later\, the fringe has flopped and the only gloves she wears is an oven mitt.  But what if she’d made it? Who would she be today? A well-adjusted mum who invested wisely and does the school run? A wellness guru flogging labia flavoured incense sticks? Or a washed-up has been calling the paps every time she goes to the Tesco just so she can scream “Why won’t you people let me live my life!?” \nJoin ex-popstar Hayley for an hour of joyous retrospection on body image\, Smash Hits \nmagazine and an indoor skydiving debacle that’ll convince you some dreams are better left in the past. An hour of so-tragic-it’s-funny nostalgia\, from your favourite no-singing\, no-dancing funny girl.

SUMMARY:Abi Clarke (The Steamworks)
DESCRIPTION:Abi’s had a bad year… She lost friends\, her home and for a while\, her ability to walk\, but no matter how hard she tried (or didn’t try) she could not lose her ex! \nBest known for her super relatable\, observational comedy\, Abi brings you a show about becoming a wrestler\, attending a games night at Nicole Scherzinger’s house\, and being broken up with at a National Memorial… we’ve all been there! \nDescribed as “that one chaotic gremlin friend we all have” (North West End)\, Abi brings an enthusiastic hour of rapid fire jokes and stories of someone who just wants everything to go right\, and for that exact reason\, can’t walk away from the very things making everything go wrong. SUMMARY:Sophie Duker (The Steamworks)
DESCRIPTION:Taskmaster Champion\, Edinburgh Comedy Award Best Newcomer Nominee and retired sugar daughter Sophie Duker is back with a brand-new 2027 stand-up tour\, ‘Hot Beef Injection’. \nIn her latest hour\, Sophie dares to get both sexy and political\, reflecting on hypermasculinity\, heavy-handed handymen and that old-chestnut Would You Rather: ‘Man or Bear?’. Hot Beef Injection reckons with the primal fear driving Duker’s distrust of heterosexual he/hims\, and out of a challenging comedy club encounter a new question emerges: what would she say if she spoke to men\, instead of shutting them out? \n“Obscenely good… Charisma to burn” Rolling Stone \n“extremely funny” ★★★★ \nThe Scotsman “she is clearly going places” ★★★★ Evening Standard

DESCRIPTION:Golden Buzzer and Britain’s Got Talent Finalist Ted Hill is coming to Sheffield in April 2027! \nTed Hill invites you inside his strange and chaotic mind for a hilarious show about fitting in\, standing out\, and self-acceptance. \nWould Ted be better off as a “normal” comedian\, or staying true to himself with multimedia\, over-engineered technology\, and an abundance¹ of facts about birds of prey? \nAfter reaching the finals of Britain’s Got Talent²\, Ted recreates the show he would have performed for the King at the Royal Variety Performance\, alongside all his best PowerPoint comedy. SUMMARY:John Kearns (Peddler Warehouse)
DESCRIPTION:Tilting at Windmills\, the brand-new stand-up show from Taskmaster alumni and double Edinburgh Comedy Award Winner\, John Kearns\, is extending into 2027. \nA fragmented\, digressing portrayal of a 38-year-old man’s life\, alluding to books he hasn’t read\, touching on the modern condition. Plus VAT! More allusive and bleak as ever\, it is unreal the comedian you become. And for who? Decent craic with the right crowd. A show for those who have read about but not committed to the Guinness Nitrosurge. \nSeen bewildered on Taskmaster (Channel 4) \, terrified on Live at the Apollo (BBC)\, getting through Never Mind the Buzzcocks (Sky)\, and implicating others on his Sky stand-up special The Varnishing Days. More comfortable on pods but comes alive on stage\, for your pleasure! \n★★★★★ The Guardian \n“most will surely be won over…with the delightful\, poetic flourish that defines all his work… perfectly structured with overlapping themes and surprising callbacks… It’s all rather wonderful” Chortle ★★★★★ \n“about as funny as anything this decade” The Times ★★★★

SUMMARY:Danny Bowes (of Thunder)
DESCRIPTION:After the success of his MAXIMUM CHAT tour in 2025\, the THUNDER front man returns with UNDER PRESSURE in April 2027. \nStill unable to sing (after his stroke in 2022)\, Danny’s going back on the road with a completely unscripted tour. The entire show will be based on questions provided by the audience. Brave or just barking mad? Danny says: “I had to learn to do almost everything all over again after what I like to refer to as my “occurrence” in 2022. I wasn’t able to sing (I’m still working on that)\, but having spent all my adult life on stage\, I had an itch I just couldn’t scratch\, and I felt I needed to prove to myself that I could still put on a show. I was mentally and physically exhausted afterwards\, but the tour worked\, which was a massive relief! \nMaximum Chat was filled with stories of my life\, both before and after I joined a band\, and there was a Q&A section. This was the bit where the audience got to ask me anything\, and I’ll be honest\, I didn’t expect to but I enjoyed it much more than telling the stories. The questions were written on cards by the audience and posted in a box. I then picked the ones to answer. I was fine with telling the stories\, but the questions were a bit scary\, as I had no clue what was coming until I saw them the first time. Consequently\, I don’t mind telling you my bottom was “all of a quiver” every night! \nWhen I answered the questions in the show\, I know it sounds strange\, but it felt like there was someone on stage interviewing me\, and I really liked it. So much so that I’ve decided Under Pressure will be a 100% Q&A show\, so it’s going to be completely unstructured\, and entirely based on questions from the people in the room. It means all of us (the audience and not just me) will be “under pressure” to create a great show\, and it will be different every night of course! See what I did there?”
