Lucy Beaumont (Extra Date)

Lucy Beaumont returns to The leadmill to play a very special intimate back-room warm-up show before playing at Sheffield City Hall in December.

Lucy Beaumont is a hugely talented stand-up, comedy actress and writer from Hull. She stars in and co-wrote the highly-rated sitcom of the fictional view of her marriage to TV’s Jon Richardson Meet The Richardsons with Tim Reid, host of Jon & Lucy’s Odd Couples, and also co-wrote the Channel 4 series Hullraisers.

She is the writer and star of BBC Radio 4’s To Hull & Back, with Maureen Lipman, and was nominated for the Foster’s Newcomer Award with her debut Edinburgh show, We Can Twerk It Out, for which she was described by Chortle as “irresistibly endearing”. Prior to this, she was the winner of The BBC New Comedy Award and the Chortle Award for Best Newcomer.

Lucy Beaumont has also appeared on numerous entertainment shows including; The Great Celebrity Bake Off, The Jonathan Ross Show, Would I Lie to You, Cats Does Countdown, Sunday Brunch, The One Show, Joe Lycett’s got your back, Artsnight, Jon Richardson; Ultimate Worrier, Alan Davies’ As Yet Untitled, Lorraine, QI, Drunk History, What’s Going to Kill Us, Live At The Electric.

She is a proud daughter of Hull, and fiercely protective of her hometown. Lucy was team captain for the University of Hull team an the University Challenge Christmas Special 2019.

Lucy has performed in various theatre premieres, touring the UK with Hull Truck, York Theatre Royal and West Yorkshire Playhouse. She also has a number of radio credits including being a panellist on The Unbelievable Truth, Dilemma; The Magical Faraway Tree, an Enid Blyton adaptation directed by Johnny Vegas, History Retweeted and Crush, a 90-minute monologue for which she received a Sony Radio Award.
