90s

The 90s saw Nicky Wire of the Manic Street Preachers declare the Leadmill as his favourite live venue and Ringo Starr write us a letter to praise the Leadmill for its part in helping new musicians.

The Leadmill was central to the emergence and domination of Britpop during the 90s and featured performances by the likes of Oasis, The Verve, Manic Street Preachers, The Stereophonics, Massive Attack, Baby Bird, Ocean Colour Scene, Cast, Spiritualized, Elastica, Jamiroquai, Suede, Supergrass, EMF, Pulp, Lemonheads, Paul Weller, The Beautiful South, Travis, Feeder, Roni Size and The Sugarhill Gang.
