Out of the quiet town of Matlock come Patawawa - a Nu-Disco trio that blends beats to pump blood, glittered guitar riffs and basslines that bite. The three-piece have crafted a sound that stays true to the neon roots of funk and disco but dress it with a cheekiness that could only have come out of Derbyshire.
Hailed as Matlock's hottest new export, their brand of Nu-Disco and Funk is bound to get you grooving on the dance floor. Staunch support from BBC DJ Dean Jackson, has seen them rise to the list of most played bands on BBC Introducing East Midlands for the third year in a row placing at 5th most played in 2016.
2016 saw Patawawa release a string of hits including Back to Life (a collaboration with upcoming French producer, Roman Kouder) and summertime pop hit, Red and White. They were featured as The Guardian's Band of the Week and mentioned in several "Best of" lists of 2016. They released their first E.P 'Hold Tight' at the end of 2016 on Soundplate Records to rave reviews, the lead single 'Could Be Love' featured on Radio 6 Music and remixed by Brooklyn dance titans 'French Horn Rebellion'.
2017 is set for big things for the trio already releasing the big summer tune 'Diversion' in February with over 350k streams scanned and brand hook-ups with Adidas, H&M and Abercrombie & Finch, 'Diversion' continues to pick up support from all directions.
Meanwhile, the group have been anything but lazy - in April they hooked up with France's uber-cool Tez Cadey & released a collaborative single 'Ivory’ which has hit 3 million streams in just six months!
'What You Want' will be our brand new single released on 27th October via Splinter Records. It's a summery tune filled full of good vibes!
